It’s 2016. Those New Year’s resolutions we all made to get more organized and raise our productivity have been said but not necessarily done. Sometimes, the outcomes of our fast-paced lives begin to clutter on our own desktops—we’ve all been there. So here are five killer toolbar apps for your Mac to kickstart your productivity goals.

This app allows your Mac to last longer by 15 to 25 percent. When your battery is at 50 percent, it asks you to turn on Low Power Mode, kind of like the new iPhone update. Then it dims your screen, hides away background applications and turns off any automated cycles going on in the background. You can even check and uncheck which functions you want it to perform or not! It’s a great tool for people who are using their laptops and have a lot of programs using up power. You can find a download to Endurance here! (

F.lux is an app that adjusts your screen’s display according to the time of day. It doesn’t seem like much, but it is actually very useful for people who use their Mac heavily during the night, for example. It usually turns into a warmer, red hue around 5 pm. The science behind this is that it lowers the blue light being used, which strains the eye therefore making it harder to sleep can have long term effects on our vision. This app’s subtle feature can go a long way! Find it here. (

Moom is a tool that helps you organize your windows on the screen. It allows you to choose different sizes and positions for where to place them on the screen. Very useful tool for doing many things at once or if you need to look at two different windows at once. It can really be a pain sliding through different apps and windows constantly, but Moom will make life easier for us all. You can find it on the App Store or here! (
